### What does Buzzglobe do?

Buzzglobe allows users to search multiple social networks without logging into those platforms. The site says users can search for images, pages, and posts by keyword, and find people or profiles across social networks.

Current available searches across sources include Facebook, Twitter/X, Google, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and Snapchat. It also provides search options including exact phrase, unwanted words, image-only results, date sorting and title-only searching.

**The lowdown:** Rather than searching several platforms individually, you can use one interface to identify potentially relevant publicly indexed content.

### How to Use:

**1. Enter a name, username, organisation, keyword or phrase into the main search box.**

**2. Use the available filters to narrow results by social network, exact phrase, unwanted phrase, images, date or title text.**

**3. Review the results and identify useful pivots such as usernames, profile URLs, associated organisations, dates, images and recurring terms.**

**4. Open the underlying result on the relevant platform where possible and verify that the content actually exists and is attributable to the intended subject. Repeat searches using alternative spellings, usernames, aliases and related keywords.**\\

## Data Processing

### Account Required:

* [x] No

### Cookies:

BuzzGlobe states that it uses Google cookies because its search functionality is powered by Google Custom Search. During testing, Google-domain cookies including SEARCH\_SAMESITE, SID, SIDCC, SOCS, SSID and UULE were observed. These relate primarily to Google search, authentication, security, consent and search customisation rather than BuzzGlobe's core functionality. A BuzzGlobe-domain cookie, sc\_is\_visitor\_unique, was also observed and appears to support visitor/usage tracking.

### Use in Reporting

BuzzGlobe can be useful for:

* Identifying publicly indexed social-media profiles, pages, posts and images relevant to an investigation.
* Providing investigative leads and background material for reports, briefings and analytical assessments.
* Searching multiple social-media platforms from one interface, helping identify potential usernames, aliases, accounts and associated content.
* Identifying potentially relevant posts, images and profiles that may warrant further investigation or verification.
* Developing investigative hypotheses by identifying recurring names, usernames, organisations, keywords and connections across search results.
* Supporting findings by directing investigators towards the underlying social-media profile or post, which can then be independently verified and cited.

A 2021 ForensicXS article, [“OSINT and the Bataclan,”](https://www.forensicxs.com/2021/10/) describes an OSINT exercise investigating the attackers involved in the 13 November 2015 Paris attacks. The author lists BuzzGlobe among the tools used for social-network research, describing it as a “good social network aggregator”.

| **Capabilities** | **Limitations** |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Searches several social networks and search sources from one interface. | Results depend on external search-engine indexing rather than direct access to every platform. |
| Useful for finding publicly indexed profiles and content associated with names or usernames. | A missing result does not demonstrate that an account or post does not exist. |
| Supports exact phrases, excluded terms, image searches, date sorting and title searches. | Content that is private, unindexed, deleted or restricted may not appear. |
| Can help locate publicly indexed images associated with a search term. | Similar names and usernames can result in mistaken identity. |
| Reduces the need to perform identical searches individually across multiple platforms. | BuzzGlobe does not necessarily provide information about how or when an underlying social-media result was indexed. |
|

                                                                                  | Results and availability depend on Google Custom Search and the underlying platforms. |

### Summary

BuzzGlobe best fits in the discovery and enrichment stages of the OSINT workflow and is particularly useful after establishing an initial identifier such as a name, username, organisation or keyword and before detailed verification of individual social-media accounts. It’s ideal for rapid cross-platform discovery, however it relies on external search indexing so should not be regarded as a complete representation of activity on the underlying social networks.

### Ownership

Not publicly disclosed.

### Ethical Considerations

* Do not assume that a search result belongs to the intended individual.
* Verify profiles through multiple identifiers before attributing content to a person.
* Be particularly cautious when reporting sensitive personal information discovered through social-media searches.
* Preserve the original context of posts and images before drawing conclusions from them.
* Where reporting potentially consequential claims, verify them using the original platform and additional independent sources.
