### What does Discord Leaks do?

Discord Leaks lets you dig through conversations that were once private Discord channels and trace patterns, narratives, and key actors across groups. It essentially functions like a public search engine for leaked Discord chat logs, with additional searching for RocketChat and Skype.

**The lowdown:** It’s especially used to study how online communities communicate and evolve over time.

### How to Use:

**1. Go to the archive homepage and use the search bar to enter keywords, usernames, or topics.**

**Note:** You can also use the RocketChat and Skype search bars.

**2. Open a server or channel result and scroll through message logs chronologically to reconstruct context.**

### Use in Reporting

Discord Leaks is useful for:

* OSINT investigations into online communities.
* Tracking extremist or coordinated group discussions.
* Verifying leaked screenshots or partial chat excerpts.
* Mapping relationships between accounts or groups.

The tool has been widely used in investigative journalism and OSINT research, especially around extremist online communities. However, it’s usually cited as a source of leaked chat archives (hosted by Unicorn Riot) rather than a direct authority in reporting.

### Summary

Discord Leaks is powerful for tracing narratives and communication patterns, primarily sitting in the analysis and verification stages of the OSINT workflow, but it must be used carefully due to incomplete data and the sensitive nature of the content.

### Ownership

Operated by Unicorn Riot, a non-profit investigative journalism collective registered in Minnesota, focused on documenting political movements and online ecosystems.

### Ethical Considerations

* Contains leaked private communications so be mindful of privacy laws.
* Risk of doxxing or misuse if individuals are identified.
* Be aware that data may include extremist or harmful content.
* Always verify context before drawing conclusions.
