### What does Forensic OSINT do?

Forensic OSINT focuses on preserving online evidence exactly as it appeared to the user at the time it was viewed. The platform captures full webpages, social media content, comments and replies, images and media, source code, metadata and investigator notes.

Unlike screenshots, Forensic OSINT preserves context and continuity, helping investigators demonstrate what was observed, when it was observed, and that it has not been altered since collection.

**The lowdown:** It enables users to capture data while maintaining evidential integrity through hashing, timestamps, digital signatures, and structured reporting.

### How to Use:

**1. Install the extension and create a case.**

| **Capabilities** | **Limitations** |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Captures webpages and online content exactly as viewed by the investigator. | Primarily focused on evidence preservation rather than intelligence collection/discovery. |
| Generates digitally signed and timestamped reports suitable for evidential use. | Many advanced features require a paid subscription. |
| Preserves metadata, source code, images, videos, and supporting content. | Requires Chrome and browser-based workflows. |
| Organise evidence into cases with investigator notes and continuity records. | Captured content is limited to what the investigator can access and view at the time of capture. |
| Produces professional PDF reports and disclosure-ready evidence packages. | Evidence quality may still depend on platform restrictions, permissions and account access. |

### Summary

Forensic OSINT is particularly valuable during the reporting phase of an investigation. Rather than helping investigators discover information, it helps ensure that discovered information can be reliably documented, reviewed, disclosed, and presented when required
