### What does Geoconfirmed do?
Geoconfirmed enables researchers, journalists, and investigators to collaboratively determine where an image or video was captured by comparing visible clues such as terrain, buildings, roads, landmarks, satellite imagery, shadows, and other geographic indicators.
The platform became particularly prominent during investigations related to the Russia–Ukraine war, where researchers used it to verify battlefield footage, identify locations of military activity, and create publicly accessible evidence maps.
