### What does Graph Tips do?

Graph Tips recreates many of the search capabilities that were lost when Facebook retired Graph Search. Instead of manually constructing Facebook search URLs, the tool builds them for you across a range of Facebook content including posts, people, photos, videos, and more.

**The lowdown:** It enables a more efficient search through Facebook’s publicly available content, alongside a consistent and repeatable search process.

### How to Use:

**1. Select the type of Facebook search you want to perform (post, people, photos etc). Then enter the required details (such as a person, location, page, or keyword) into the relevant fields.**

### Use in Reporting

Graph Tips is useful for:

* Documenting a repeatable and transparent Facebook search methodology.
* Supporting investigative findings with links to publicly available Facebook content.
* Demonstrating how information was identified during the collection phase.
* Providing contextual evidence for people, pages, groups, events, or locations.

**Note:** Findings should be independently verified and corroborated before inclusion in reports and make sure to record the date of the search, as Facebook content and search results can change over time.

| Eliminates the need to manually build search URLs. | Facebook’s interface and search behaviour may change without notice. |
| Useful for generating repeatable OSINT search methodologies. | Some results require a Facebook account to view. |

### Summary

Graph Tips is a free, open-source tool that restores much of the convenience of Facebook's former Graph Search by generating structured search queries. It’s best used during the collection phase of the OSINT workflow to efficiently discover publicly available Facebook content, with additional value during analysis for developing investigative leads.

### Ownership

Graph Tips was created by @sowdust as a free and open-source project inspired by[ Henk van Ess](http://linkedin.com/in/searchbistro)' work following the retirement of Facebook Graph Search.

### Ethical Considerations

* Only collect and use information that is publicly available.
* Respect privacy, platform terms of service, and applicable legislation.
* Avoid drawing conclusions from incomplete or outdated Facebook data.
* Verify findings using multiple independent sources before reporting.
* Clearly distinguish observed facts from investigative assumptions.
