### What does LeakData.io do?

LeakData.io is a defensive breach-exposure search and monitoring service. It checks authorised email addresses, usernames, phone numbers, and domains against indexed breach datasets, returns matching breach records and affected data classes, and provides a public breach catalogue.

Registered users can save monitors and receive exposure alerts. Enterprise access adds API-key authentication and signed webhooks with formats for common SIEM and SOAR workflows. Its password checker uses a k-anonymity flow so the complete password hash is not sent.

**The lowdown:** It’s a powerful breach intelligence platform that reveals compromised credentials and leaked personal information, but should be used ethically.

### How to Use:

**1. Select email, username, phone, or domain as the identifier type.**

**Note:** Enter only an identifier you own or are explicitly authorised to assess. A guest check may require Turnstile and is limited to one search per day.

**2. Review the matched breach names, dates, verification state, and affected data classes. Cross-check relevance before reporting or taking action.**

**3. Create an account only when saved monitoring, risk reports, or alerts are needed as in the below:**

**Note:** For an approved enterprise integration, create an API key and follow the REST and signed-webhook documentation at <https://leakdata.io/en/docs>.
### Cost

* [ ] Free
* [x] Partially Free
* [ ] Paid

One guest search per day and a continuing free plan. Paid monitoring and enterprise integrations are available.

## Data Processing

### Account Required:

* [x] Yes
* [x] No

No for one guest search per day. Yes for saved monitoring, alerts, and integrations.

### Cookies:

The site uses essential session cookies (session-id) and functional preference cookies (ld\_locale). The site also sets several Google cookies (HSID, SID, SAPISID, SSID, NID) associated with Google services such as authentication, security, user preferences and potentially reCAPTCHA or embedded Google content (if logged into a Google account or Google resources are loaded).

### Use in Reporting

Typical reporting applications include:

* Identifying whether a target email address has appeared in historic breaches.
* Demonstrating organisational exposure following credential leaks.
* Linking multiple online aliases through shared breach records.
* Identifying historical passwords that may explain account compromise or password reuse.
* Supporting cyber threat intelligence and incident response investigations.
* Corroborating identity assessments alongside sources such as Have I Been Pwned, WHOIS records, social media, company disclosures and other OSINT datasets.

**Note:** Findings should be redacted or minimized and should not be treated as proof that a current password works. The product provides risk reports for registered users, but no independent public case study is claimed here. Documentation: <https://leakdata.io/en/docs>

| **Capabilities**                                                                                                           | **Limitations**                                                                                                                                               |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Search indexed breach signals by email, username, phone number, or domain. | Coverage is limited to breach data currently indexed by [LeakData.io](http://leakdata.io); no result doesn’t prove that an identifier has never been exposed. |
| Review matching breach records and affected data classes. | A match is an exposure signal, not proof that a current credential is valid. Investigators must corroborate relevance. |
| Browse public breach records and details. | Guess access limited to one search per day and the free plan has limited monitoring. |
| Save authorised account or domain monitors and receive exposure alerts. | Public API quota is not included in self-serve plans. API and managed webhook access are enterprise features. |
| Check password exposure with k-anonymity flow. | The acceptable-use policy prohibits monitoring third parties, competitors, or public figures without permission. |
| Use API-key authentication and signed webhooks for approved enterprise integrations. | No independent public case study is cited in this submission. |
| Send webhook payloads in formats intended for Splunk, Elastic, Microsoft Sentinel, CEF, Syslog, and custom SOAR receivers. |

                                                                                                                                                   |

### Summary

LeakData.io is most useful during the breach-exposure verification and ongoing monitoring stages of an authorised OSINT or defensive-security investigation. Findings should be independently verified before they appear in a report.

### Ownership

Owned by CyberVisir Solutions Ltd., UK company 17215486, co-founded by [Emre Capan](https://www.linkedin.com/in/emrecapan/), with LeakData infrastructure hosted in Turkey.

### Ethical Considerations

* Search or monitor only identifiers and digital assets you own or are explicitly authorized to assess.
* Do not monitor third parties, competitors, or public figures without permission; stalking and doxxing are prohibited.
* Do not use exposed credentials for account access, credential stuffing, phishing, or other malicious activity.
* Minimise personal data in reports, redact unnecessary identifiers, and consider the harm caused by republishing breach data.
* Corroborate matches before attribution or action; an indexed record may be stale, incomplete, or unrelated to the current account state.
* Follow applicable privacy law, the affected service terms, and LeakData.io acceptable-use rules.
* Protect API keys, webhook secrets, alerts, and exported findings, and delete investigation material when it is no longer needed.
