### What does Profile Image Intel do?

Profile Image Intel helps you trace where a profile picture appears online. It’s especially useful for identifying fake accounts, sockpuppets, or reused images across multiple platforms.

It lets you:

* Check when a profile picture was uploaded/changed.
* Track profile image history.
* Query via username (Instagram, Facebook), phone number (WhatsApp) or direct image URL.

**The lowdown:** It's a handy tool, great for quickly checking whether a profile image has been reused or linked to other identities.

### How to Use:

**1. Enter a profile URL or username into the search bar, as in the below examples.**

### Use in Reporting

Profile Image Intel is useful for:

* Identifying fake or stolen profile images.
* Linking accounts across different platforms.
* Supporting investigations into impersonation or scams.
* Strengthening attribution in OSINT reports.

OSINT investigators are increasingly relying on image OSINT techniques in terms of collating image metadata, conducting reverse/visual searches, and ascertaining visual clues from profile images to connect identities, validate locations, and build timeline evidence into investigations.

| **Capabilities** | **Limitations** |
| ------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| Reverse image search focused on profile pictures. | Results depend on indexed sources (not the entire web). |
| Helps uncover duplicate or reused images. | May miss heavily edited or cropped images. |
| Can link identities across platforms. | Some features behind a paywall. |
| Simple upload and search workflow. | False positives possible. Requires verification. |
|

                                       | Search can be slow and not pull up results. |

### Summary

Profile Image Intel is a focused reverse image tool for OSINT work, sitting in the OSINT workflow at the analysis/enrichment phase, providing temporal insights on profile image changes to verify identities, track account evolution, and detect repurposed or coordinated accounts. False positives are possible and results can be limited though, so take care.
