Sanctions Atlas brings together official sanctions data from OFAC, the UK, the EU, the UN, Canada, and Australia in one public research platform. Users can search sanctioned people, organizations, and vessels; examine sanctions programs and authority coverage; review aliases, identifiers, designation histories, relationships, modifications, and delistings; and explore broader patterns through the analytical dashboard, global sanctions map, country and program pages, and sanctions changes feed. Official-source data is refreshed multiple times daily. Each authority listing retains its source, official identifier, and provenance, and important findings can be checked through links to the issuing authority. **The lowdown:** It saves time by bringing sanctions and ownership intelligence together in one platform. ### How to Use: **1. Search for an entity, alias, official ID, registration number, passport number, IMO number, sanctions program, country, or concept.** **2. Open an entity or program page to review source records, identifiers, authorities, chronology, relationships, and changes.** **Note:** You can use the Dashboard for high-level sanctions statistics and analytical overviews, the Global Sanctions Map to explore geographic exposure, and Sanctions Changes to review recent designations, modifications, and delistings. **3. Public search works without an account. **Note:** During our session on 4 August 2026, we noted zero cookies being used. ### Use in Reporting Sanctions Atlas can support reporting and investigations involving sanctioned people, organizations, companies, vessels, sanctions programs, geographic exposure, and changes to official sanctions lists. **Potential uses include:** * Checking whether a person, organization, company, or vessel appears in one or more of the six covered sanctions systems. * Searching by name, alias, passport number, registration number, official sanctions ID, tax identifier, or vessel IMO number. * Comparing how the same entity is listed by different authorities while retaining each authority’s original record and official ID. * Reviewing designation dates, programs, aliases, identifiers, relationships, modifications, partial delistings, and full removals. * Researching sanctions programs and the entities listed under them. * Using country, authority, dashboard, and global-map views to identify wider geographic or program-level patterns. * Following recent designations, modifications, and delistings through the sanctions changes and monitoring features. * Locating the original issuing-authority record for direct verification and citation. A typical reporting workflow is to search an entity or identifier, review the relevant entity and program pages, compare authority coverage and chronology, and then open the linked official record before publishing an important claim. Sanctions Atlas preserves authority-specific provenance and reviews imported changes before publication, but the issuing authority remains the authoritative source. Care should be taken with common names and incomplete records. Reporters should compare dates of birth, nationalities, passport details, registration numbers, addresses, vessel identifiers, aliases, and other identifying information rather than relying on a name alone Relationship wording should not be expanded beyond the evidence. It combines detailed entity and program pages with broader analytical tools, including a dashboard, global map, authority and country views, and a frequently updated sanctions changes feed. Its main strengths are multi-authority coverage, official-source provenance, searchable histories, and both entity-level and corpus-level analysis.
