### What does SPOT do?

SPOT helps users geolocate images by using artificial intelligence to analyse visual clues. It can suggest likely locations, highlight similarities to known places, and provide a starting point for deeper OSINT investigation. It’s particularly useful when dealing with unfamiliar environments or large volumes of images.

**The lowdown:** It excels at speeding up the early stages of analysis but must be used alongside traditional OSINT methods to produce reliable, defensible findings.

### How to Use:

**1. Type in your search query (the more visual clues you have the better) or search for a place/coordinates.**&#x20;

**2. Review suggested locations and cross-check findings with other tools (e.g. maps, satellite imagery).**

SPOT is useful for:

Whilst there’s currently no direct attribution of the tool in published cases, its functionality mirrors techniques already proven in high-profile OSINT investigations. SPOT just automates part of the process. E.g. we could see its use in cases such as helping geolocate conflict footage and verify events.
